6mm 106gr TAP

This is available from Midway as a component. Looks like it is the bullet from the 106gr TAP Arc round.

Anyone know about this bullet? When it showed up I was surprised at the length. Even longer than Berger 108gr Elite Hunter. On the hornady site it claims barrier blind. Is it Interlock or bonded?

Not bonded or interlock did not retain the core when shot into a series of four 1 gallon water jugs today at 100 yards muzzle velocity roughly 2800 fps.
link below gives Hornady data from a 18* AR barrel.

Any idea why they are claiming barrier blind? Is it a thick jacket at the bottom ? Possibly from the big SD?

Either way it is incredibly long for the weight and has a claimed BC of 580.

I have been asking the same question. Based on hornady data my take is the energy available after passing through plywood, steel, sheetrock & glass would be sufficient to take out the bad guy yet. My take is they are working with a muzzle velocity roughly 200 FPS less than my limited test. Ill venture it is a possibility that at least in some scenarios a faster muzzle velocity may be a detriment to the barrier blind goals with this projectile.
