6gt reamer

I know, it wasn't worth the added expense. For me, the GT does everything the XC does. Well, except feed from an MDT 308 Polymer mag ... that's the only downside I've seen.

Just my opinion, the 6GT is a tweener that doesn't seem to be very good at anything. It only has one source of brass. And that source could dry up at any moment. I'm pretty sure you could soft shoot the 6XC and it would smoke the 6gt and the 6XC will literally feed out of anything made for a 308.

I have Hornady and Alpha GT brass, they're interchangeable in load data. They were bought from different vendors too.

My XC and GT loads for the DTAC are surprisingly similar. Different powders, but the sweet spot ended up being in the same fps.

From the experience of my customers the Hornady brass is once or twice fired and then it's throw it in the trash.

I'd be willing to bet the XC dries up faster than the GT. It's a very easy round to load for and the Hornady brass is actually very good in this round. Then you have the OCD brass from Alpha that is working well also. Try it, I bet you would be happy.

The apocalypse would come and Tubb will still have brass when no one else does. David buys ahead, and he buys a lot. It is his cartridge.

Just saying.

I was looking at A 6GT Is chamber reamer. It has A 274 neck and A 118 freebore. It is from manson Are there any opinions on this or another river which would be more desirable? Thank you

I'd be happy with that. 118 is a nice freebore for 109/105 class bullets.

I'm a 6GT fanboy and think it's the bees knees. It's an incredible cartridge. Don't listen to all the haters here. They're just mad they aren't shooting the fabulous and powerful gay tiger.

You can get crap Hornady brass, or you can get Alpha brass that will last a lifetime if you anneal it.

I chamber 6GT same as 6xc, 6bra, 6br, 6 Creedmoor, 243, etc. I don't care which chamber anyone picks. I just try to give people sound advice.

That's my business. Happy customers.

If 6gt was the shiznit I would sell the crap out of it. I don't think it's great at anything. That's just my opinion.

I’ve had good luck out of both hornady and alpha brass. I’ve had everything from first production gap hornady, and non ocd alpha up to the current stuff. I know the GT is slower than the xc, but what else do you feel like it gives up?

A better question would be, what did it fix?

I'm asking because I just shot my first prs match with a 6br and had feeding problems from the magazine. No internet article or FB post interest. Alpha brass is available
I run a 6BR, Dasher and GT for PRS. What rifle setup are you running? The 6BR feeds great with the MDT BR mags, AI mags w/primal rights mag kit and AW mags with HRD mag kit.

Switching rounds will not automatically solve your feeding issues. I literally tune all my mags to feed the way I need them too. Some mags need attention, some run great out of the gate.
