6BRX load development

Got my BRX out of mothballs a couple of weeks ago and have been testing some different bullets and primers. Up until this year ive always used Berger 105 VLD's and CCI 450 primers. A friend talked me into trying some Barts 105's. WOW these things shoot rings around the Burgers! The first two 5 shot groups measured in the "ones". The Bergers average between1/4"-3/8".
After determining optimal seating depth i found that i was getting an ES of 12-15 fps with the 450's. I then decided to try some different primers. I found that Wolf small rifle magnum primers worked the best and dropped the ES to 5 fps.

Taging myself because i have one of these too. Want to see some load development talk also.

With Varget I assume of course!

You may want to try IMR 4451, in my 6X44 its nearly identical to 4350 and the performance and accuracy have been better.Ive been using an identical load with each one.

My BRX loves 107 SMK's with a hot load of Varget, RL15 works just as good.

You will find an article on this site, Beckman's 6brx. Here is teh URL. http://www.accurateshooter.com/guns-of-week/gunweek062/

I don't know if I would go this hot, but it worked for Beckman. My load is very close to his, but I don't jam the bullets like he is doing. You might even find other articles which are interesting.

I just acquired some Bart's Bullets and I will try these out. I don't know why, because the 107 smk's are working great.

Beckmans was/is using moly coated bullets, so be careful if you are going to try his loads.
