6BRX HELP!PLEASE!

Wayne, your to the point, BUT YOUR ARE A GREAT HELP!

I have been shooting all my life, but I am just NOW learning how to shoot! I am learning a lot here, mainly from people like yourself!

I guess I got lucky about two years ago and won State in my class, 308 F-TR, I was hooked! I have won one or two overalls since as well. After studing these boards, I beginning to wonder if it was just luck! Or I lucked up and built a few guns that shoot!

Dennis I got your p.m and will get back to you this evening, I just stopped for a sandwich, I am heading back to the range seeya..........
Wayne.

I have never heard the following: What are your thoughts on Beckman''s .035 in the lands and he is WINNING! LONG RANGE? I have read his story about 10 times!

what powder do you use to make you stock slide the best? Along with stock tape?

Leave the powder to the bowlers. Silicone spray on cordura works well with the stock tape.

After doing a lot of load tweaking, I can not get the 32.7 to shoot under an inch at 300 yards. So I went with 32.0 of Varget and shot this group. Well as you can see it would have been a good group but I missed my wind call. I had gotten my wind flags from Sinclair right before I left for the range. I arrived at the range and what do ya know, I left them on the counter at home. I was watching the heat waves and it was at a boil on the first four shots, but then I noticed a change at the target. There was NO WIND at the bench but at three hundred mark, there was around a three mph wind. I seen it in the mirage and thought to myself I should hold over, but I didnt. This is what I get. I blew it...

Two lessons learned that day. One dont forget your wind flags and two, listen to yourself...

I went out and shot at 400 and 600 today. I was really happy about the 400 yard target as all 5 shots went into a group around an inch. .946. Then I went to 600 and set up two targets. I am getting vertical at 600yards. I am not getting it at 400 at all. Not sure if its my loads or just me driving it. My rounds at 400 are the same shape as my groups at 100. 100 yards Im getting around .350 to .450. There was little to no wind and I used wind flags.

Im using 32.0 grains of varget with cci450 and 107 smks. My come up on the nightforce puts me at a velocity of 2990-3000.

Josh,
Your a little light on your charge, try coming up to 33.0-33.5 and I think you will find your vertical goes mostly away. Of course work up slowly from where you are at. Are you jamming or jumping?
Wayne.

I am jamming but I'm going to try jumping the smk. I guess ill do load developed all over again. Only at 600 yards.

Josh,
It may also help to put something on the target to give you a constant aiming point. Maybe a 6" paper plate for 600yds. I find it easier to shoot groups when I have something to concentrate on rather than just a human shaped target.

Josh,

I am going to second the idea that your charge is a bit light and you need a more consistent aiming point. Get your speed up to 3000 fps and get an F-class target for your 600 yd shooting or a 600 yd benchrest target.

A man silhouette is probably one of the worst targets you could choose for precision 600 yd work.
