6BRX and my Bucket List

tclaunch

I can scratch of one of the priorities on my bucket list. We shot our monthly match here in Memphis at our awesome range MSSA and I agged my targets afterwards as we only shoot score in our club matches. I shot 6 targets Sunday and agged all 6 and was some kind of happy when I saw it was a 1.677" 6 target agg. That Bartlein and the .140" FB BRX reamer are a good match. Shooting Varget with Berger 105 VLD`s. I had never agged under 2" before in my life. Sure was nice to do it at home the first time.

Memphis will be hosting IBS matches beginning March 18th

Nice shootin' Tim.

I'll have to bring my crowning file for when we meet up again........

;D

Tim, were the bullets pointed?
Have you tried the hybrids yet?
If so, what results?
I bought some hybrids today after
reading some forum discussions.
Berger claims the hybrids have a
higher BC than the 115's.

These were pointed, no trimming, just point and shoot. I have shot a few hybrids, but I keep going back to the VLD.

Tim,
Nice shooting buddy ;) that's great!

Birdog,
My new reamer based on Tim's print is due here tomorrow, IF it shows up on time I have three rifles waiting to be rebarreled, the first one I get I have 1700 new Hybrids to start shooting, I will let you know, I have a new pointing die and plan on experimenting with it as I go.
Wayne.

Wayne, birdog, my samples of the Hybrids showed they didn`t need anything done to the meplats, they were good to go.

Wayne I hope that reamer is a goodern for you to. ;)

Tim,
I am sure the reamer will work great and I really appreciate you sharing it with me ;)
So what your saying is you just pointed the new Hybrids but did not meplat trim? I guess it will be a tough question to answer but how much did you close up the meplat when pointing? and one last question did you use a compound point or a single point?
Wayne.

Thanks for the report. That indeed is an impressive Agg. I'm happy whenever I can get a single target under 2". You obviously have a great-shooting gun. Post a pic or two and maybe I can make a Bulletin "Bucket List Accomplished" report on this. Again, thanks for sharing.

Tim,
That's cool is a understatement, I sure hope Paul posts your success, That is really something to be proud of for sure, I stay awake at night trying to figure out how to achieve your results, you have been steadily changing things one at a time and it has been proving to be the right choices, I just can't say enough about it so I will just congratulate you and shut up,....Congratulations my friend!! that is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY AWESOME!!!!
your friend,....Wayne.

Wayne, its guys like you make this worth while. I do appreciate your condolences.

I was late to work posting the picture and left the worse one out. There is a 2.088" hanging out left field with the let off I missed. ::)

Bulletin story is live.

Tim was kind enough to fill in many details -- such as his reloading tricks.

I put all the targets in a Youtube movie so you can see them small to large (not in firing sequence).

It's too bad all six targets weren't all shot in a single registered match. Tim's six-target average is lower than the NBRSA LG record for six targets. But, just to be clear -- Tim's six-target performance can not be considered for a record -- it's simply a superb example of shooting.

Paul,
Thanks for the neat write up and video, from a great guy and fellow forum member.

Tim,
Awesome job ;)
Wayne.

I am numbed by all this. I am grateful of the help from Paul and this site for making what I have done seem important to others. I am going out to MSSA for our first practise run for the IBS. Will be back later today.
