6BRX 95 grain Bergers and H4895 Powder

I have a Krieger 1-8 twist barrel on my 6mm BRX and wanted to try out the Berger 95 grain bullets using H4895 powder. After an extensive search here, I haven't been able to find any real data on this combination. Could it be that it is not a good load? I have some loaded ammo starting at 31.5 grains going up to 33.0 in .3 grain increments. I have shot the 33.0 and have not noticed any signs of pressure so I should be pretty good on the lower end. Any advice anyone? Oh, and by the way, Happy Easter everyone! Thanks in advance.

It should be a great load, I just wanted to add my experience with the 95 Berger was that it liked a hard jam, more so than the 105 VLD. I worked with a 6BR and RL15 at the tune of 32.2 grains and the 95 right in the +.020" range. I will be re-visiting this with a set back 6BR barrel I finished yesterday. H4895 should be about perfect for the 95 if your barrel likes it.

VLD bullets to shoot well...I was planning to start with Varget but I noticed that 8208 XBR is very close to the same burn rate as H-4895. Any thoughts, ideas or real world experience would really be appreciated.....Thanks...George

I'm in the exact same boat. Just ordered a nice supply of the Berger 95 VLD bullets to try in a 1-8 twist Krieger and Brux barrel. Hoping someone can share what has worked well for them.

I use that powder in a dasher with 105 hybrids. 31.7gr is my load and 31.6 and 31.8 are the outsides of that node. It shoots very well for F class in calm conditions. Velocity is 3015fps and I use BR4 primers.

I tested up to 32gr and pressure was fine there. I would agree starting at around 31gr and working up in 0.2gr increments would be a good idea.

Mine runs at 3200fps out of a Dasher with 27" barrel
