6brx + 110 smk

Hello everyone. I'm new to posting here but have learned a great deal from just reading. So first of all, thanks.

Secondly, I've been building rifles since January, mostly tactical/prs type stuff. I've done four 6.5 Creedmoor and one 338 Lapua. So far so good. I want to do a 6brx and shoot the new 110 SMK. I would like to know if this would be a good pairing and what freebore you would recommend I have JGS grind my reamer to.

Also, would the regular 6BR do okay with that bullet? Thanks!

I have purchased many reamers of which you speak, and an option. You can ask for a zero freebore reamer and use a separate throater for any style/weight bullet afterwards. The 110 SMK has a very short bearing surface and will work with freebores set up for the Berger VLD. If you don`t want to use separate throater, then I`d get a .150" freebore. You are dealing with a very short neck on the BRX.

I've got friends shooting that bullet with success out of a 6 Dasher. I'm having a 6BRA barrel spun up to shoot the 110's myself. I think a straight 6BR would be a bit on the slow side for PRS, but might work okay.

You getting a 7.5 twist or faster?

You do have to fire from the BRA, you will not get Dasher/BRX velocities until they are formed into the BRA case. But it is as easy as to "load and fire form"!

I like Tclaunch's design on the case. It has a normal looking neck length.
Easy to form, load a 6BR round in the chamber and fire !!
More can be read about it here..

Some like the longer neck length, but I prefer the shorter, with a 135-40 fb length. I shoot the 110gr Sierra's, and 105 Hybrids in mine. There is still room for a lot of powder behind either bullet. And since the case will be full of powder, (like H4350 in the Dasher), I think that adds to the accuracy of the case.
The same powder for the BR & Dasher will be used/preferred, but a few newer ones will come into play.

22dasher is right, you can't get enough in the case till it's formed..
