6BRA the hype is real.

So for me, it’s looking like the 6BRA is “The Empire Strikes Back” of Star Wars movies and not “The Last Jedi”
:)

Got my newly chambered rifle from Alex Wheeler on Friday and fireforming today went very well.

I’m one who has struggled a little with brass issues, fire-forming difficulty, and pressure in a couple Dashers. I’ve been re-chambering rifles back to 6BR and 6.5x47. I’m glad I decided to call Alex and get a BRA going. Fire-forming was so simple, and the rounds accuracy is instantly recognizable.

Sierra 107s with my seating die set to my last used BR depth and varget. 29.8 grains was a bit wide so I backed off to 29.5 and miniature groups appeared.

Thanks to Sam Hall, Alex Wheeler, and others for giving us cool new toys to work with!

That's a standard 6br load? The 6bra load should be closer to 31.5?

The 6 Dasher is not some flash-in-the-pan. It has been around a long time and isn't going anywhere soon. Yes, the 6BRA seems to be grabbing everyone's attention lately but 6 Dasher still wins. When I first started with the Dasher I fire-formed my own. Since DJ moved to my area and we've become good friends I now get all my Dasher hydro-formed by him. I've tried others, just as a point of reference, but no other Dasher brass is as good as his.
As already mentioned, PRS shooters are crazy over the 6's and there are plenty of them to choose from.

More fire forming. This time with the machine made 103 Vapor Trail.

My question is will the easy accuaracy I’m seeing while forming continue with standard loads?

If it doesn’t... you know how to get it back!

FB_IMG_1569014272732.jpg 20190920_190324.jpg 20190920_152858.jpg Daddy got his this week also...Borden Rimrock drop port with the Bix trigger..NF Comp scope..

Loaded 32 rounds with 105 Hybirds jammed .020 with 29 H4895...no load work yet.

Shots 23 through 32 were better than anticipated forming brass with no load work.

I have to say it handles on the bench 10 times better than anything I ever been behind..

Got 105 Hammers and 103 VT and 106 Roy Hunters to try out..

Nope! :( Fireforming has an unique way of shooting almost anything well at short range. It does ok at long range but will throw some bad fliers. Once you have formed cases you will have to tune that barrel just like any other cartridge unfortunately :)

Wow... the reason(s) behind this could easily become a multiple page thread! I don’t fire form, but would like very much to understand this phenomenon!

My opinion is the pressure curve is cushioned by the expanding case and causes a much weaker harmonic pattern in the barrel. It would be interesting to see a pressure trace done with fireform loads.

Alex it shouldn’t be a problem to find equivalent Accuracy though should it?
