6BRA Questions Powder Primer Bullets!!

So made up my mind I want a 6BRA. Powder choices are all over the place. I realize all guns are different and it will tell me what it likes but where to start….

105-106 grn bullets in 8 twist, my opinion you need a faster twist for heavier.

12 twist 80 gr. Barts
Lapua brass,cci450, 8208

R15.5 and 450s going to be hard to beat. Berger 108 is just fine in 8 twist.

Just finished this one. My friend Troy did the stock bedding and I did the barrel. Even polished this barrel to 1200 grit.

Pretty snazzy.

It appears that the target action takes the same bolt head as the standard model 10. From doing some research.

Your 8 twist is fine for the 108s. H4895, 450s and the 108s around 2920 fps can shoot very small.

This will be mine. Currently 223. Have to figure out to convert 223 to 6BR bolt face.

It’s not hard. Just remember that the extractor is different between the two bolt face sizes. I struggled with my first one until I figured out that little detail.

all of my barrels shooting the 108 LRBT I have shot 7k into the lands until this last barrel ended up liking 24k jump. of the powders you are listing H4895 30.3-30.5 I'm going to bet you will like any of those depending on the burn rate of your lot of H4895. Primers I would try em both Fed 205 and CCI 450. but mine have liked 450's better. all of the barrels I have shot have all been .237 bore and the numbers above have hit around 2920 fps. 8208 was also very good in my testing in the 2880 range. Varget was the other powder I tried in mine. I fire formed my cases with 29.2 of Varget was around 2750-2780 range on a new barrel. but super accurate. I had not tried 4350 or RL15.5. Have fun.

Out of the powders you listed id go 15.5 hands down, i shot it with 108 Hottenstein bullets in my BRA. Ill be the odd duck here though i have since switch to AA2495 and its doing good

I have had great success with Varget, CCI 450s, and older Lapua Scenar 103s in the lands about .005-.007. These give up some BC to the modern hybrids but they are extremely consistent base to ogive and shoot in the high ones for 3 shots at 100 yards. 2940-2960 FPS. The new Reloder 15.5 TS is also extremely temp stable.

I have a good load with the 108’s, 29.8 of h4895, 450, jammed .003. 2895 for velocity out of a 8t 28“ barrel.

Just make sure if it’s a left eject action you get a left eject bolt…otherwise the short action bolts are the same as the target action bolts

My wife's rifle is a kelbly atlas, brux 7.5, triggertech diamond... using lapua norma 6br fired to 6bra. 105gr hornday bthp, cci 41, N135 28.5gr... incredible accuracy

Would 29gn of Varget be ok for fireform y’all think? I need to get 3 cases 3x fired to send in for a Harrell’s FL die.
