6BRA load data

@BartsBullets

So I have wanted to test some of Bart’s Hammers but hadn’t been able to find the time, this morning I did. No powder development, I just used the load that shoots Roy’s 103 well at 1K. I picked three seating depths. I really just wanted to see if the barrel and bullet got along but it looks like there will be a shoot off between Roy and Bart after the season. It was getting tighter the deeper I went into the lands so I’ll test seating depth some more first. Five shot groups at 100 yards.

This rifle that Alex built for me seems to make things easy.

That looks Pretty stout if I say so myself.

New lot of xbr had excessive bolt lift and terrible dispersion at 31.0 with 105 hyb/ 1.740/cci 450 2940fps/ 75deg 26" barrel. Will back down .5 and check again.
N140 shows some promise around 31.8-32.0 / 2900fps will work up farther. Showed a very nice group at 30.0 and 2750 fps. Did not chase it too heavily with hopes of a bit less wind.

30.1 of H4895 is the low node, usually 30-30.3 or so. The high node is 30.9-31.1 usually. Bore dimensions will determine if you can run the high node or not.

This is the same barrel I posted on earlier. Settled on .010 in. I’m going to lead with it at the Nationals. It likes to run on the slow side.

CLICKED the scope up 28.4 inches and shot this final group! We will see how it goes!

Bart your testing at 100 for 1000 ? I assume using H4895? I'm out of the 105 hammers, can you send me a batch of these to try? Thanks Don

in .236 Brux and .237 Krieger bbls I cant run that high node with either,,,,both shoot real well between 30.2 and 30.4 around 2930

all these loads in the BR Imp. with H4895 mean very little unless you know the lot number... 31.1 gr. Lot# 7076 gives me 2976 in one barrel and 2998 with Barts 105 in the other Lederer. ... jim
