6bra 20” 90gr eldx velocity expectation?

What velocity could I expect with a 20” 10twist hunting rifle?

23” with 80s gets me 3375. So maybe 3100, 3000 at least I’d figure

You can model this in QL or Gordons Reloading Tool the later shows with 35.3 grains of h4350 at PMAX with a 20 inch barrel maybe 2960 FPS however it is just a software prediction. This is compressed load 101% fill.

A faster powder might work better from shorter barrel.

Thanks for all your input, I ended up getting 3107 with 32.5 grain 8208. I also used some new alpha bra brass and seems to be really good. 10thou off the lands made a little under 1/2moa at 100yards. Killed a coyote with it this morning.

My version of quickload doesn't list the 6BRA...HAS THIS CHANGED RECENTLY ? Or are you changing case volumes on 6BR?

I don’t have quickload. I just started low and worked up watching pressure and velocity. I have never measure but I would say you get a couple grains more in bra than br.

You are right there in the ball park. 90gr SGC is giving me 3050-60 with a 22" 8t Krieger with 32.0 of 8208. I tried 32.5 and didn't pick up but 25fps so I just backed off to 32.0 , primers look good with no expansion at the 200 line.... John
