6BRA- 105 gr. Berger Hybrids and 8208

So I scored 500 Berger 105 gr. Hybrids saturday, and am wondering if anyone has had any luck with imr 8208, and the 105 Bergers in their 6BRA? It helps that the same gunship also has a fair supply of 8208 on hand, which is why I ask. I have Varget, but wanted to work with a powder I can more readily get my hands on if possible.

You might be pleasantly surprised using 8208 with the 105 gr. class 6mm bullet. Although I have zero experience with 6BRA, I have competed in registered F class mid range matches with the 105 and 107 bullets in 6mm Norma BR using certain IMR powders. The downloadable Sierra APP shows 8208 as the Accuracy load for their 107 gr. Bullet in a straight 6BR.

The dealer said 5# limit. But then told me he'd sell me all 12#s for $41.00 per pound.... It has been sitting on his shelf for a while( not popular in our area apparently).
Buy it an try it. If you don’t like it, I’ll be driving thru Ohio around 4th of July - From Cincinnati to Toledo. I’ll gladly take it off your hands for $41/ lb. It’s been harder to find around here than Varget, H4895, H4350, etc.

What charge weights have you used and can you share related velocity data?

Mine loves 29.6 of 8208 w/ the 105 hybrids, BRA. Does not produce the high velocities that you read about here, but accuracy is more important anyway. It gets 2875-2880. Shoot straight man!
I’m precisely there, too with a 103 in a 26” Broughton 6BRA. Not flashy, but shoots well and, so far, seems very forgiving. My last 28”rock creek in regular 6BR was about a grain less - 28.5 & 2,825-ish.

My 6BR also seems to perform well with the 103's though Sierra 107's went well too till they fell off the market here... The 103's are a local made using Sierra jackets.
103gr just seems to be a perfect weight and as far as the Bergers go I have never had them perform as well... Just flogged off 600 108's and if I cannot get the 105's to do well I will put them out for sale too...
All 500 of them...
About to re-barrel with another Benchmark and will give the 8208 a go... {Bench Mark 8908 here in OZ}
Have had great results with 103gr Copper Heads, 29.3gr of AR2208 {Varget in the US where the OZ made 2208 is rebranded}
CCI 450's & 7-8 jam.
Just put in another 4Kg of AR2208 so it looks like I will be using that again unless the 8208 shows real promise, but who knows? {:~)

Hey Guys, quick question here: Does anyone have used Shooters World Precision Rifle instead of Varget for 6 BRA and 105's hybrids? If so, any idea on the start load?? shooting at 10FT above sea level (Louisiana)
Thanks for the advise
ED
