Has anyone ever tried IMR 4895 in a 6br with heavy bullets?

Heavy as in 107's? Yes, it works darned well too. R-15 is my preferance, but 4895 was good stuff when I tried it. WD

For whatever this is worth, over the years I've found that IMR 4895, RL-15 and Varget are powders that provide similar results in both my 6mmbr and my .308. But your particular rifle will tell you which of the three she likes best. Mine settled in on 28.1 gr of Varget pushing a Sierra 107 that is just touching the lands. Info only.

Yes, 107's & 108's. You used IMR 4895 not H4895 correct? Would you care to give me a starting point?

I tried both and didn't see any noticeable difference. As I recall, I started at 26.5g and worked up from there. Good luck and let us know how it works out for ya. WD

I was just playing with it in my Dasher.

Worked pretty well. I got 2900 fps with 31.6 grains of it behind a SMK 107. It shot well, but opened up at longer yardages.
