6br vs 7br dimension differences?

I have a Redding Type S FL 7br die siting on my bench. Are there any dimensional differences between 6 and 7 br, besides, the obvious neck?

Could be slight differences if your 7 BR brass was made as 7 BR, but most of it came from expanding the neck on 6BR Brass. Could be from a 6BR Norma or a 6BR Remington so there’s also that.

I should have worded that better. I'm just wondering if I can size 6br cases with the 7br die, assuming I use the appropriate bushing. I don't know how long Redding has been making the Type S die, but I'm guessing it's standard BR dimensions and not Remington BR. I'll give it a shot, and report back.

I did it many years ago. I can't remember if there was a shoulder set back issue. Try it.

The Remington 6BR is just a few thousands shorter and if you chamber a NORMA 6BR the bolt will close and fire... But the case will come out with a slight amount of inward folding at the mouth of the case..
Looking a bit like a case fired with a crimped projectile... Ask me how I know...
I bought a 6BR on a Tikka T3 with a Neck Turn chamber that the owner hadn't been able to shoot and reload for without ruining cases {he had it custom built and not realized that he had to turn the brass to fit the chamber and apparently the smith had not told him... Resulting in, I got a bargain!}
When I sent it to a new, for me, gunsmith to re-chamber it with a NO neck turn, it turned out that his reamer was the old Remington 6BR...
That is why I now have my own reamers for every caliber that I shoot...
Also means that my F Open ammo also fits that T3 "Dog Gun" and I don't have to have two different loads/sizing.... {:~)

When I was shooting in IHMSA 20+ years ago most folks were necking up 6BR Lapua.
