6br vs 6br Norma

6 br Remington vs. 6br Norma..the Norma necks a slightly longer..i'm using 6br Rem. Redding dies w/ Redding said would work for the 6br Norma

There is one more difference. Right at the shoulder body junction the rem version is a little narrow compared to the Norma version. If you are going to get a reamer cut you may want to have it cut for your dies and not just your brass. I had mine made for Lapua brass and the dies I have are on the rem spec. I did not get all the data right when I was ordering stuff. I had to get a die to fit my brass and chamber. Brass is too expensive to just over work it for no reason.

I am not using a reamer. I am going to get either a shilen or mcgowan barrel. So it uses the same brass and dies? I am new to the 6 br, so thanks for the help

If you are going to limit your choices to just these two barrel makers, I would choose a Shilen match select 10 times out of 10 over McGowen.
