I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a Ezell PDT tuner on a 28" straight 1.250 Krieger barrel. I will be shooting Lapua factory 105gr ammo. Would i benefit from the tuner or will i be making things more difficult and not much in return?

A little about the rifle its a panda F class action, bix and Andy trigger, Krieger barrel chambered by Kelbly's all bedded in a Alex Wheeler LRB stock by Kelbly's and a nightforce comp scope. Seb Neo rest and the rear bag to match the stock. The rifle is built right but I'm not set up for reloading and have never done it. Just looking for the smallest groups possible from this rifle with the factory ammo.

With factory ammo, I would definitely have one on there. That’s going to be your huckleberry to tune factory ammo to its full potential (and to keep in “tune”, within reason).
 
While I admit that I have zero experience with a rimfire tuner, but from what I’ve seen & studied on them, there seems to be a bit of voodoo in using them compared to a Ezell. With a centerfire it should be pretty straight forward for you & factory ammo. Your best tune will show up pretty quickly with little “twisting”. Small changes makes a difference (as in one mark per adjustment) and there’s no need for multiple revolutions in finding the best tune. If you order one, Mike will spend the time on the phone with you making sure you understand the use of it.

Yes I know. I'm planning on calling him but I also have another question. Will I be better off using a hv barrel or a 1.250 straight barrel with a tuner? Seems like the way to go with a tuner is with a hv barrel so it will move and you can adjust the tuner for that.
 
Just wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate all of the posts to my questions. I have called and talked with Mike about his tuner and decided to get one on the way. He was able to give me alot of information on his tuner and what to look for when I'm tuning it. Also asked me to shoot a series of 5 shot groups and sent him a photo of it and he would help me from there if needed.

I am sure Mike told you- tune the load for powder charge and seating depth with the tuner set at zero and then use the tuner to keep the load in tune. I have never had to move his tuner more than three marks and usually much less to get back in tune.

Not to take anything away from Mike’s tuner - it’s a great tool. But, I suspect Bart’s reloading ability and shooting know-how played a larger roll in that group than the tuner did.
 
I don't really think tuners make a rifle shoot better. I do think you can make a load that you are shooting in your rifle perform its best by tuning for it. Thats what I have found in rimfire benchrest. Dealing with the factory ammo I will be shooting i think being able to tune for it will make that ammo shoot better than just trying it without a tuner.
 
I’m using one of Mike’s tuners on my Kelbly Panda with a 28” J Lederer heavy palma barrel.

I shoot this rifle in F Class matches

It will definitely give you the ability to adjust your tune as conditions change.
