6BR Throat length as worked out by D.Kiff

I understand that Dave Kiff at Pacific Precision has worked out a throat length of around .088 . If I am correct,can
anyone say if this is working and what their experience is.

Free Bore or Throat Length will be dictated by your bullet selection. For the 105/107's I have been useing .113" but my new reamer was cut at .103" so we could also use the 95's. .088" free bore is for the lighter bullets.

Dave Kiff cut my 6BR Reamer with a .20 throat knowing I had a 6mm 1.5 degree lead throating reamer. I have my customers send a case with a bullet seated to the depth they plan to shoot. I ask if they want the bullet into the rifling or how many thousants jump they want. I suggest every smith should have short throated chamber reamers and throating reamers in their shop. It is a $69.00 expense that is well worth the price.

could you use the .113" freebore for a lighter bullet such as the 87 or 90gr with a 1:10 twist rate? Would accuracy suffer?
