No I just went with a PPCEric,
Did you try the Talldog?
If so, what were your results?

I did, 30 years ago, and quickly found out why others were just chambering for a 6 ppc, it just won't shoot like the 6 ppc. I'd never do it again! In my opinion, it's going the wrong way! Thanks
I decided to give it a go
The arthritis in my fingers is a real bugger. I can pick-up and handle BR cases, but PPC cases are tough.

Your action may be able to handle a PPC with a .308 bolt face. There are a number of actions that will. What action do you have?thanx,,I have more time to make brass than money to buy a PPC bolt,,do you care to talk me through the brass making process,,
I remember reading about the 6mm Talldog, Dick Wright used to shoot it and write about it in Precision Shooting........KiwiThis cartridge has a name. It is a 6 Talldog. It was developed, I believe, by Fred Hasecuster and I forget the other person sometime maybe in the 90's when 220 Russian brass was scare. I know this is a little vague, but I've been asking for a couple of years and this is what I have so far. I had one 6 Talldog barrel on a Panda and won a few matches with it, still have one other somewhere that I've not shot. It will shoot with a 6 PPC. The downside is the brass is a hassle to make. If you have the time, it's not difficult, just takes several steps.
I'm one that likes to try oddball stuff, but for a normal person it's much simple to just shoot a PPC. As I said, I still have one barrel and the dies. I'll probably do it again sometime. I may even have a reamer ground.

Looking forward to your report. I had fantastic results with my .22 Waldog! Cases were a bitch to make. Lol!Exactly!
My reamer should be here in a week or two.
I put a 40* shoulder on my Talldog and gave it a 6br neck length with a .273” neck diameter.
Several of the “ppc gang” I spoke with said if Remington had came out with a 6 br from the start, you would see a bigger variety of cartridges on the line today. Most said the Talldog and Waldog will hang with any ppc, but the extra step or two in brass prep is what turns folks off.
I plan to run both of the above mentioned cartridges in ‘24 for whatever matches I manage to attend.
