6br repeater bighorn action

I've read some post and the articles on the board but anyone tried it with a bighorn action. I would like to build a rifle that is well balanced for some local tactical matches and hunt small game too.love the accuracy ,barrel life, and lower powder charge of the 6br. Is this achievable with this wonderful cartrigde just don't want to be fouled by feeding issues. So any experiences ,combinations ,barrel lengths and contours will be appreciated . Stock will be a M40 / hunter McMillan adj check piece ,Ptg detachable AICS magazines, Bighorn action, and not decided on contour but want the med. weight barrel. Opinions and feed back needed and wanted good or bad bring it on.
Thank you

I believe that you will be well pleased with the action. I have one that I have been shooting, that is a single shot, so there is no help for you with my experience as far as feeding from a magazine. One thing that I will mention is that they are available with small shank Savage threads, and that I am currently working with an aftermarket barrel that was chambered and threaded to go in a Savage. It is an outstanding advantage to be able to use these nut secured barrels, and have the advantages of all of the Remington stocks, and triggers, as well as not having to deal with a separate recoil lug. My action has two bolt heads, a flat faced one that I am using with 6,5x47 and a coned one, without an ejector, for PPC. The versatility of this setup is a great advantage, as well as the outstanding quality of the work.

Thanks for your input never played with a savage before.Does the Barrel nut just act like a jam nut or lock nut pulling on the threads inside the receiver. Action should be in hands this week im super excited and AJ is a super nice guy called him and ordered a 223 bolt face.

If using the PT&G DBM with an AI mag for the 6BR it will take a little fiddling with the mag to get it to feed. Since it is a center feed mag (which is good) a little easing of the feed ramp on the action will help as well. Its a great round and worth the effort. Be diligent to get the DBM set to the proper depth is 1/2 of the battle, the rest becomes easy. If your DBM bottom metal is at the wrong depth, you will drive yourself nuts getting it to work.
