6br reloading newbie

Hi iam new when it comes to reloading and I just sent my rifle out to have chambered in 6mmbr I have lapua brass and told them what brass i was using, its a 24 inch SS bartlin barrel with 1 in 10 twist built on a rem 700 action. question that i have is there are so many different dies and components that are available I'm confused on what to get to start reloading. I'm not to worried about cost just don't want want to have to upgrade in the future. i have a dillon 550 and a lee cast press. any help with suggestions on components would be greatly appreciated. the rifle is going to be used mostly for varmints no competition shooting. thanks Dale

10 twist ?? If you're out for varmints....think Nosler BTs...Horny V max...Sierra BKs....Nosler Pro Shop has great prices on 70 & 80 BTs....dies ?? Forster of course...get the three pc set w/std BR seater..Primers ?? I use Rem BRs and Lapua brass in mine...powders ?? Benchmark or H4895 is all I've ever needed.....

You can't go wrong with any manufacturer die set, get a full length sizing die. Redding makes some of the nicest dies I have. Components buy a Hodgdon Reloading manual and go from there.
On the same Post. Moderator is correct if you use Lapua cases. For Remington cases RCBS dies work. Redding dies are as close to custom dies at affordable prices. Harrel's are for BR. Your 6 BR will do just fine and once you get out of first gear you should be able to hit at 600+. Put your money in a great scope. Nightforce or Leupold 6.5x20. Good Shooting.

I would not buy RCBS dies for the 6BR. A set was submitted to me for testing. The FL sizer was not a particularly good match for Lapua brass and the decapping pin was too large.

The Forster Ultra and Redding Micrometer top seating dies are both excellent for the 6BR, but I believe the Wilson ss Micrometer top hand seater is a cut above.

Harrell's makes a very nice full-length sizing die with bushings that is semi-custom-fitted to your fired brass.

For under $100 both Hornady and CH4D.com will make you a custom FL sizing die off your fired brass. The CH4D version is only available in non-bushing style.

For $10 plus sh/handling Forster will hone the neck of its full-length sizer to fit your desired dimension. That is a very nice solution for a varminter, as you can go with .002 neck tension with no messing around with bushings.

Thanks Guys for the information It helps a lot I still dont have the rifle back yet and I'm just getting geared up so when it does com in I can go shoot it. do i need to send a fired case in to Forster for them to hone the die or just have them hone it .002? I have a box of new lapua 90gr that was giving to be that sparked this whole project so I can use that fired brass to send in. the rifle is being built by GA precision in Kansas and I informed them what brass i am using and the scope I'm using is a nightforce 5.5-22x56 so it should be a shooter. when i get it back i will post pics of it. thanks again guys for your advice and I'm always open more. thanks Dale
