6BR, Reloader 7 & light bullets

Hello all. Looking for some advice on using Reloader 7 in the 6BR with 55-58 grain bullets. I have loaded a few with VV N135 at 34.4 grains and 100 yard groups at 1/2 inch with Nosler 55 grain and Hornady 58 grain. Based on some some reading here I thought I would try Reloader 7. Goal is varmint hunting. Any suggestions as to a starting point on powder? Have a 1-14 twist barrel, Federal 205M primers. Bullets a few thousands shy of lands. I know this is general but thanks for any advice.

CORRECTION: I used 32.4 grs VV N135. NOT 34.4 grs. Sorry.

Well, I have personally fired thousands of 6BR rounds using RL-7, AA2230 and 58 Vmax and 55 SBK bullets. Both at prairie dogs, paper and steel spinner/swing targets.
If your looking for the best velocity, accuracy and all around performance.....then you must use Lapua brass, thick cupped primers and of course a zero freebore chamber.
I don’t know how many barrels I’ve chamber for using a slow twist barrel and zero freebore chamber.....but it’s at least a dozen or more.
Everyone has shot little tiny groups using either 29.5 - 30.5 grains of RL-7 or 34.6 grains of AA2230 using a 55-58 grain bullet.
Normally I can hit the 2” spinner every time at 300 yards until I get hungry or the pivot point over heats and want to seize up.
6BR the most over looked varmint cartridge ever made, in my humble opinion.

Thank you Flyshooter for your input. I was using Norma brass but just recently bought new Lapua brass. I have a soft spot for walk about varmint rifles and I agree the 6BR would be as good as any. Definitely going to load some with Reloader 7 as you suggested. Anyone with other suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

Also have a 14 TW BR for GH. I hunt in the Holmes Co. area Ohio. Try the 60 gr Sierra Varminter bullet. Better than any bullet I have tried. For a many years I shot a lot of Hornady 58 gr V-max. They are good and always in the gun store. But the Sierra 60 Gr Varminter always shoots small round groups close to a 1/4". As good as any match bullets I have tried. Decent accuracy and speed with H335, R-15 and Varget. Settled on 33.3 grains of 8208 as my standard.

I MADE A MISTAKE. In my original post I stated I used 34.4 grs. VV N135. That is wrong. I used 32.4 grains of VV N135. A member caught that and sent me a PM. I apologize for brain and typing being disconnected. So sorry.

AA2230, Rem 7 1/2 is my go to for 55-70g bullets, bug holes abound, extremely long barrel life...hard to imagine.

A follow up to my question about Reloader 7 and light bullets. I tried Flyshooters suggestion and loaded 29.5-30.0-30.5 grains. New Lapua brass, .267 neck bushing, 1.557 comparator length that gave a .003 jump, Fed 205M primer, 55 grain Nosler varmint bullet. 30.0 load gave 1/4 inch 100 yard group. I do not know velocity from the 21 inch barrel. Not a match winner but the groundhogs will not know the difference. Thanks for the input.

Some years ago I ran out of my favorite BR bullets and someone pointed me toward the 60gr Sierras. I must say, I was very surprised. They are outstanding pills from both accuracy and game performance perspectives. I still have a few hundred of them just in case I ever run out of bullets again.
