6br powder of choice

OK so trail boos id usable but has nothing to do with the original question and I am not trying to be a killjoy by any means just staying on point with John's question. He wanted a varget substitute not a powder puff load. I myself use varget but since it is hard to get then 4895 might be a good alternative. I want to try 203b myself as it is supposed to be cleaner than rel15.

Some lots of 8208 XBR are are faster than others. The lot that I have works great in my application, but I'm shooting 87 and 90 gr bullets in a 10 twist straight 6 BR.

Give it a try. Just start low and watch for pressure.

Thanks to everyone for the help.. im going to try both the n150 and 8208. Might even grab some norma 203b and try too. Maybe something will work as good as 105 a maxes in front of 30 gr of varget.

Is everyone still having issues finding Varget ?? Isn't Varget supposed to be more insensitive to weather changes? I read awhile ago that Varget was the powder of choice for the BR and Dasher. Then I picked up A LOT of it !! Same lot #'s, now everything changed before I even had the rifle. I did pick up some RL 15 but haven't tried it yet. Too much Varget on hand.
I knew up front to purchase all the components to last awhile in same lots. So I did !! I'm not an expert but 30.2 gr works well with the 105 Berger.

yes Varget or 2208 as its known in Australia where its made and repackaged and sent over to you guys who get it cheaper than we can buy it for(figure that out ??) is less temp sensitive than RL15.. yeah between 30 and 30.6gr is what most people run over here with 105gr in the 6BR
i also need to try it to see what works better in my 6BR but i have 20lb of RL15 to use up 1st haha
