6br pistol project, barrel length/ neck size/ reamer ?

I am building a custom encore pistol in 6br. What would be the best barrel length? I was going to use 18 1/2 ' barrel with a 12' forearm for bipod use. Also, what neck size should be used for a no-turn case. Is a .273 too big? One more? ...What should I ask about the reamer so to be able to shoot 95gr VLD's?
Thanx again in advance

Since it is a pistol, there are no restrictions. Anything over about 16' will work fine. A .271 to .272 neck is used most of the time for a no turn neck.

I own both a .272 and a .273 no turn necked rifles and I can't tell 10 cents difference in the way they shoot. The Lapua fire-formed brass after it springs back is tight enough to hold a very light grip on a bullet prior to resizing less then .0005 out of my .272 Pacnor chambered barrel. I don't know but expect the reamer they used was getting a little worn down anyway it sure provide excellent brass life. But you might be better served to using a .273 neck with a Encore action because of the weaker extraction. I'd think about something with least 16-1/2' finished length, that way you could always add a rifle butt to the mix and have a great format for a childs on small framed lady to shoot.

rmist: I cannot comment on an Encore, don't have one), but several of my rifle chamberings were cut with my reamer and a .272' no-turn neck. Loaded round neck dia. with Lapua brass is .269'/.2695', and I'm using a .267' bushing. Everything is fine, and I can see no difference in group sizes, compared with my .265' tight, fitted neck chamberings. Life is good.
