6BR loads with TAC and 70gr

Wanting to work up a good PD load with my 14 twist 6BR and 70gr Sierra BK but not finding much any load data with TAC. Seems like TAC should be a good choice. Any help? Thanks

Not sure if you're set and stocked up on TAC or not, but A2520 has worked great for me with the 70s in my 6BR rigs. I've had good luck with A2460 too, with everything from 55s to 70s in the 6BR, which probably has a burn rate similar to TAC. I like the Ramshot and Accurate ball powders equally...burning countless kegs of X-Terminator in my 6BRs with 55 grain bullets at velocities too good to believe.

Thanks guys, that'll get me started. Gabe, I have several of those powders so that chart is very helpful. This year I shot 58 V-Max with AA2200 which turned out to be a surprisingly good load. Had one box of the 58's that I wanted to use up, now on to the 65 V-Max and 70 BK. Last shot on this year's heavily compromised by the weather PD shoot I scored on a big one with the 58 V-Mx/ AA2200 load at around 600 yds according to my sons who were on the range finder. IIRC the SD for that load was 9 fps the one time I checked it.

Good morning Joe, I have a Cooper montana varminter with a 14 twist & have had great results with 31 grains of H4895 & 70 grain Nosler BT's! Pushing those right around 3200 fps, Devastating on yotes & very accurate!Best of luck with your project!

Thanks RAG, I had some 2520 but sold it to a friend to help him out. I would think that 2520 and TAC would be pretty close.

Yes. I bet they are similar in every regard. I have a couple boxes of the 70 Blitzking, purchased over 20 years ago, and I've tried them in 4 or 5 14T barrels and have yet to get them to shoot very well. Marginal at best. Not sure why, but I hope you have better luck.

I'll have to measure the length of a few different bullets in that weight range and see if there's much difference among them.

I just picked up a 6br today and want to shoot these same 70 grain BK for p dogs. I have some Tac ( didn’t work all that great in my 20 br. ) Also have Varget , benchmark. H335. 2460 2520, and IMR 4895. Just waiting on some Peterson brass I ordered, as all my lapua stuff has been necked down to 20 cal.

This surprised me pretty bad, 58 VMax and IMR 4227 , for 70's I ran AR Comp, and 65's I run CFE 223, all of them shoot better than I have a right to claim ability for.
