300-500 yard benchrest for local matches, no real distance but the winds can get tricky. My barrel is a 7.5 twist, I know the 110 is pushing it with my twist but I figured it might be worth a try. The rifle loves 107 smk's @30 grains of varget with 205m primers. The 110 is really pushing the br to it's limits.
What is this being used for? ((what distance)
Thankya sir, the A tips might just be the way to go then. I'm using a 7.5 twist so I'm definitely on the edge of stability for 110 smk.I never tried a BR but in the BR Imp. about the same loads I used with a 105 with H 4895. and with a H4350 I could get them going 2920 with 34+ gr. and a long drop tube, Your Br will a little less. The 110 SMK will not shoot good in a less than 7 twist barrel, but the 110 A tip will work in a 7 and a 7.75 barrel.... Both shot in the zero's at 100yds with low ES.... jim
Try that same 30.0gr of varget under the 110 smk seated to just off from touching. My 7 twist I jump around between the 105 hybrid at 15 off, 110 smk just off from touching, and the 107 smk 5 off all with 30.0gr of varget. At 100 yds the groups are indestinguishable one to the other. Greater than 500 yds the 110 really start to show off in the wind.
