6BR & Heavy Bullets

I have a 6BR with 1-14 twist. Excellent accuracy with 55 and 70 gr. Nos. BT's. Would the 1-14 handle bullets in the 90 to 100 gr. range or is 70 as high as I should go and expect good accuracy? Do you feel that 70 BT's are too fragile for small Texas WT's?

Im no expert either...but have shot every bullet out there ...and my 6mmBR's,,14 twist))will shoot bullets as big as and including Berger 80's...but not Fowler 80's or Sirra 80's...it must be a BC thing...the Berger 80's shoot as good as anytning else ever...but went to Fowlers and they wont stabalize and neither of the sierra 80's....Roger
PS...dont start low on the powder charge...they are too slow to shoot and most folks think they wont either...but fast and at the top end of the powder charge they are great....

No, your 1-14 twist will not stabilize the heavy VLD bullets. I would think 80grn is about max and that would be hit and miss.
