6BR for hunting??????

I'm looking at a Dakota Predator in 6BR for deer, hog and deer sized exotic hunting re; Axis. With a heavier "100 gr" bullet, How will I do, if I put the bullet in the right spot? the reason is this rifle is not chambered in any "normal" deer hunting calibers.
Thanks

I pieced together a 6Br in a VSSF frame. It works great for what I use it for. I've killed a few deer with good results. THe 6br in a long barrel is not far off a .243 at all. Within normal hunting ranges... If the .243 Win can do it the 6BR can to. The only thing I would do diff is twist mine 8". I have a 10"

Go forth, killed 2 deer this past season w/ MY Dakota Predator, using 95 Ballistic Tips.

At 200 yds, groups consistent 5/8" w/that bullet.

Deer don't like 95 Ballistic Tips :)

BTW, shot a wild hog/boar at 240 yds w/a 85gr X bullet a couple of years ago, 243/Ruger#1/20" RSI model, MV 3100.

6BRs push a 105 about 2850, 95@3k, and 85s about the same as above, 3100 in 24-26" bbls. Point is, if you desire a tougher bullet on hogs, etc. just use a 85 TSX, NEVER heard of ANYTHING fairly hit cover much ground. Most do what my hog did, dropped STRAIGHT DOWN DRT !

It is like the old saying,"It ain't what you hit them with it is where you hit them that counts." A 95 to 100 gr bullet in the right spot from a 6 br will get-er-done.

I thought long and hard about the 6BR but in the end decided to go for a 6.5x47, simply for easier feeding and more flexibility for the range of deer (muntjac to red) that we have here in England. It will replace my .270Win when its finished.

A 6BR is a great deer rifle. I have killed several deer over the last ten years in Montana with this caliber. It has incredible accuracy it is nothing to shoot a deer in the neck at 200yds with a good rest. Shoot the 105 berger VLD or the 85g sierra HPBT gameking 32g of Varget and CCI 450 devastating. My 10 year old son loves this gun for deer.

Dakota builds the Predator in 6.5 Grendel. I think this should be better than a 6mmbr for deer??? I want the Dakota Predator and they can only chamber it in the smaller base cartriges. The Grendel being the largest. More thoughts on the 6.5 Grenel for killing deer, etc?
