Gary! A BIG bore? What will the guys at Saubier say?

My lot of 6BR brass runs around .269 loaded, so I use .266 and .267 bushings. The 95 BIBs seemed to like the .266 that Rand suggested. I'm going to start with .267s for some 65 V-Maxes that I'm just starting to test.

sorry i dont have the brass or bullets yet the long wait would be for the dies not many stockists here in the uk so pre ordering before the gun arrives is my way.

Sadly, there are some pretty divergent opinions here. Probably due to the somewhat inconsistent state of Lapua brass lately. I think I bought my lot of brass about a year ago and with 65 V-Maxes loaded, the dozen that I measured all came in at .268. With 95 BIBs, I was getting .269. Either JB likes a slip fit or his brass is thicker than mine.

The brass does vary,as does the diameter of the bullets!).

Shooting 105 Scenars which run skinny, I use a FL die with the neck honed to about 0.267" and that gives very little tension -- about .0015".

I use Norma brass which requires a .269 bushing in a Redding die, to get .270 with a 68g Berger FB....so for $10 each get some extra bushings, and use the methods desribed above. I also have a .267 bushing, but have not used it as the .269 is plenty tight. So as it was said above...it depends on the brass and the bullet used...so,like I said) ...get some extra bushings.

just loaded 3 rounds with 80 berger match[no primer or powder]to determine neck size i had to go to a friends house and use his 6br dies,well all 3 came out at .270 and as luck would have it when i picked up the gun from the firearms dealer he gave me a .268 TINIT.

so im just waiting for the dies.i can prep the brass though he[dealer] has even loned me a k+m mandrel to take out a bit of the neck tension.
iv also invested in the k+m neck reamer this sure cuts a nice clean chamfer in the neck.
i know from the 6br information help section- not to touch the flash holes,is there anything else i should do prior to the dies arriving?.

I am having a No Turn .272 neck 6BR built and chambered for the Lapua brass. A loaded round measures .270. I have been told, by many, a .268 bushing will work perfect. Good luck with your loads.

Just make sure the flash holes don't have the infamous burrs on them. I've had them on 6BR, 6.5x47, and 6.5-284 brass, but a recent batch of 223 brass was clean.
