6br bushing size

What size bushing are u guys using for lapua 6br brass?
I'm thing about getting a carbide one once I find where my dies are in storage.

Can't answer your size question since I don't reload 6br ... but I can tell you that even though they're expensive, I get great results from the bushings at Short Action Customs. They took me from a few thousandths of concentricity, to usually less than 1/1000th ... and they solved a flaring case mouth issue I had with other steel or titanium bushings. YMMV ...

What is the chamber’s neck diameter and do you plan to turn the case necks?

Run your expander ball through some brass to keep them round, Load for break in, pressure range data and measure your fired necks and go from there.

I'm running a .267 for Lapua in a no-turn (.272?) neck.

If I were you, I'd get steel bushings in a couple of sizes around your target size and experiment a bit before springing for the expensive ones.

Bushings are one of those things that has an "it depends" answer.

My advice is to be prepared with a spread in your toolbox, and to be prepared to have ones you might never need. Murphy's Law states that the time you elect not to order one, that is the one your next batch of brass will want....

The older I got, the less I liked waiting for details to arrive in the mail, so I buy all the bushings and don't look back. When you are still young and raising a family, you must be a little more careful, but I still advise you to plan long term with your trade off study.

The range in 6BR with no turn Lapua can be from 0.264" - 0.267" depending on your taste in annealing and neck tension. YMMV

I asked on here as you did and received good information such as you have. I mandreled my necks, measured the loaded round, fired, measured again. My loaded round was .2675. I bought a .265, .266, .267. I don't remember what the fired measurement was. YMMV. Mine is a .272 no turn neck.

I don’t follow why would you judge a bushing from a fired round ?
Just curious

Not to judge for bushing size, when robbor stated "no turn, not sure" It would be a good time to see if it is on the tight side or loose side for clearance. I didn't know if robbor meant not sure if he was going to turn necks or not sure of his neck diameter, either way good time to get a little data. I also like to put a bullet in a fired case and see what the clearance feels like, light grab, loose, snug etc.
