6BR Barrel Length

Welldone 7.5

Gold $$ Contributor
I have bought a 6BR chambered rifle with a 26” barrel. It seems a little short for a longrange 600/1000 yard gun. What do the “REAL” shooters use at that range. BTW, it’s a Krieger 8T HV contour, Barnard P action.

Try 105 to 108 gr bullets in your rifle. If your loads cronograph 2900 to 3000fps
you should be in the ballpark. From 600 yds on up to 1,000yds your success will depend on your skills in reloading, reading the wind, and practice.

26" 6 BR barrels have set world records. Try it out, and you'll become a big-time believer. Perhaps about 28.5 gr of H4895 with Fed 205 primers, and a quality 105gr match bullet -- like Berger, Hornady, Sierra, and a few others, using Lapua brass will help you believe. Enjoy it.
