6br barrel 30' long w/14 twist

I've got a 30" pac-nor with a 14 twist. No chronograph. Right now I'm loving the 67-70 gr bullets. Would it be worth the effort to try shooting some heavier bullets? My thinking is based on possibly driving them fast enough with a 30" barrel that they would stabilize. Probably not enough to make much difference huh?? tootalloutdoors

tootalloutdoors,
Please see my post from earlier today on the thread "advice on twist and weight," next to this thread. You shouldn't have a problem achieving a stability factor of 1.5 with a 6mm 80gr. Berger match bullet,or similar 80gr. bullet) at muzzle velocities of 3100fps or faster. I have excellent accuracy with this bullet in a 26in barrel.

Go for it. Re stability--you'll never know unless you try.

30" is pretty darn long for a 14-twist, but this might be an interesting solution. I agree the Berger 80 is a very accurate bullet.
