6BR, Barnes 112 w/varget

Does anyone have any 6BR loads they like to use with a Barnes 112 gr Match burner and Varget in a 1:8 27" barrel?

They will not work in an 8 twist. In a 7 twist yes, my experience. Varget too fast burning better with RE16, RE17, or H4350

Did not work well in my 1 - 8 Tw. barrel either.

6br is probably a bit slow. My 6xc 8 twist shoots them lights out.

They are fine in my 26" 8tw at 145' altitude.
31gr of CFE-223 at just under 2800 fps.
My 22" 7.5tw loved them with the same powder charge. Even after 5285 rounds, it'll still plunk 5 into under .5.

Varget is fine and apparently an 8tw is good to go for those Barnes.

The 112 MB worked very nicely in my 6x284 / 8 Twist / 30" Krieger when I tested them once.
I was impressed with them, held up way better than Hornadys anything such as 110 A-Tips
Accuracy was very good maybe 1/2 MOA
Drove them easy at approx 3200 fps

I only tested 100, to see if they were a worthy backup bullet to what I currently use

With Varget 95g bullets will work just great in that 8 twist. The 105 grain bullets are a maybe depending on your elevation.

In what way did the 112 MB hold up better than 110 A Tips.? What was your longest yardge test. What is the complete load story. I have a new build in progress. 28 in Bartlein 1 / 7.25 twist bolt action. Using Leverevolution . Steel plinking ELR.
Have good luck with 110 A Tips in my gas gun.

My BR 1-8 27”” on Varget does get on 105 HB and 107 MK’s old Style .

My BR's like N150 and Varget equally. Both are 8 twist and both like 105 hybs and Bart's 103 Daggers. They perform very well to 600 and 1000.

This is my first test with the Barnes 112 on my 6xc. I set them to 20 jump and made a batch at 38.5 and 39.5 R16. No load workup.

The 38.5 is the left side of the target and 39.5 the right.

So they are coated bullets. How do they look at 300yds and beyond?

If they work in 8tw from 2800-3200fps , they should work better at higher altitudes then ?
