6BR and Reloder 10X

I'd like to try Reloder 10X in my 6BR using 68 grain Barts but I can't find any load data even though the R10X says right on the container excellent for bench rest cartridges. Does any one have any Quick Load data on this combination? The barrel is an 8 twist. Thanks.

It depends on what chart you use. I took every burn rate chart I could find and averaged them out. Doing that it's about the same burn rate as Benchmark and a bit slower than H322, both of which are recommended for light bullets in the 6BR, so R10X should work well.

tokimini I have used 10x in a 14 twist 6BR with 65 66 gr bullets. shoots Great!

I do not or i'm quite sure it will not work in a 8 twist with heavy bullets.

with 65 gr bullets. I would shoot from 29.0gr to 31.0 gr. with 30.5gr's just humming. it quite a fast powder.
like N133. I chronyed 30.5grs with a 65 V-max at 3,500 Fps. I would have to say that would be a super hot load in a 8 twist.

Thanks for the info FJIM. My 8 twist barrel shoots the 68 grain Barts the best. I read on several places on the web that you use can use the starting load for H322 in 6BR with 68 grain bullets for the starting load for R10X, which is 29 grains. I wanted to get confirmation that was a good starting point and you can't get better than someone who's had good results with it. Thanks.

This probably isn't much help but I did shoot it in a 14" twist barrel with 68's. It shot well and got great velocity. It (to me at least) seemed to be louder than Benchmark, 2460, and some other's I tried.
Good luck.

If Alliant has REALLY tested 10x in BR cartridges, then they will have handloading info on their website---any bets?

Running it by Quickload gave the info that something like a 65 gr. bullet would maybe work ok with 10x but even at max load there was a lot of empty space left in the case when shooting 90s............not encouraging for the latter.

28.5 grains of R10x with Berger 80 varmints produces teeny tiny groups at 100 yards and chronos at 3150.

Held 1 inch of vertical at 600 at the last match.

One of my favorite loads and powders. Oh... I shoot an 8 twist...

one of the guys at the local BR club range was shooting 10x this last weekend in a 6ppc bench gun with 14 twist barrel.

28.8 behind a ~64gr Berger Column averaged 3550 for 5 shots. primer pockets were done after that single firing.

I have shot it in a 6mm BR with 70 gr Sierra's and I started it below H322 starting data. It was very dirty to start but did get better with pressure. I only shot about 30 rounds and went back to my H 322 load, groups were ok but not better than the H 322. Hope this helps you get started.

Reloader 10x gets no respect. It is great powder.

I agree. I sold that old beloved 6BR 14 twist. all I can say is RL10x and a 66gr fowler bullet had shot piles upon piles of .150 ish 5shot groups at 100yrds and even a handful of .350ish ones at 300yrds.
