Got invited to shoot prairie dogs this coming spring in South Dakota. Me being me Automatically starts thinking about a new rifle for this purpose. Good excuse anyway!! I have asked about 10 twist 6br's here in the past as this idea has interested me for quite some time. I have an action to use (BAT SV 308 BF RB LP ) I also have a stock that might work but thats a toss up. I may have to buy one. If i do have to buy a stock it will be a shehane st-1000 or a Mcmillan MBR. Anyway i will want to chamber the barrel for BIB 95gr bullets. I would like to be able to shoot the 95 bib FB and BT. What free bore will i need for the best performance with the BIB 95gr bullets. I contacted BIB as i figured i would just go to the source but Randy much be out of town for the Holiday. So what do you fellas think would be best? I figured somewhere around 80?? My 8 twist dasher is set up for 104 free bore and it works really well. My smith has a new PTG 6br reamer but it is also set up for 8 twist. Can i use the reamer with 104 free bore or should i have one made with a little less? Or rent one?? I would rather buy i think. Anyway i am just bored, so i thought i would see what kind of topic this would make. I dont know how the BIB bullets would do on Prairie dogs but i would suspect not so good, as far as expansion goes. Berger makes an 80gr and an 88gr Varmint bullet that might work pretty well. That being another reason why i wonder if i should go with a little less free bore? Thanks lee
