6BR 68gr VVN133 load ??

UBR match next Saturday and I wont have my PPC bbl back in time to use that,,thinking about trying to shoot the 6BR bbl on the same rifle,,I have a couple 105 gr loads that shoot lights out but hate to waste those bullets up close,,my BRDX would shoot the 68gs with Benchmark very well out to 300 but I don have any of that powder,,

what I have on hand is VVN133 and 68 Berger flat base,,with the PPC I was shooting 29.1 grs,,with the bigger BR case anybody think I could start at 29 133 and work up and find a decent load to shoot for one w/e or just shoot the 105 gr load,,

I am not really worried with score or winning I just want to go meet the guys and get started in the game,,

If it was me, I'd shoot the 105's that you have a load for and are comfortable and confident in.:) The alternative would be to take a load to the match that you'll work up today or tomorrow and compete with on Saturday...... I've done that before, but there was not a good end to it.:( JME. WD

Mr Big,
I shoot both first Bart's 68 gr FB's and second 68 Gr Bergers FB's, (both being pushed by 29.1 grs of VVN133) out of my Savage Model 12 6mmbr. I get very tight groups at 100 - 200 yds. But, I have not tried going beyond that distance simply because my local range isn't any longer (except for a stupid gong up on the hillside at 300yds which I couldn't care about). So, because you have a different rig (or even it it was the same) I'd start those 68's at 29 gr of VVN133 which is a fantastic powder in the 6br and see what you get. Now I do agree that going any further (beyond 300 yds) needs a bullet weight change probably to a 105gr. Good Luck and have fun.

Alex

the UBR is shot for score at 100 and 200 only at this range,,I am gonna at least load and shoot a few rounds with the 68s but if they dont look really good right off I will go ahead and load the 105s ,,
