6BR 15" encore

Anyone out there shooting a 6BR pistol. I just got my MGM 6BR 10tw barrel. I broke it in Friday, looks like it will shoot. I used H322 and N135 with 70gr Blitzking. N135 has much more blast and recoil, but not more speed than H322. I know when shooting a rifle round in a Pistol you need a faster powder, to burn it in the barrel, not outside the barrel. What do you use?

I use h322 and 68 grain flat base match bullets with great accuracy. You will never totally get rid of muzzle flash. My barrel is from another encore house in utah,LOL It is stainless and it shoots really well with a old pistol scope but I want to put on a rifle scope. The one thing wrong with all pistols etc is the lousy low power scopes. You will have a ball with your encore taking out vermin to target work.

Mark,

I don't subscribe to that theory. I've got X-P's in 223, 6 BR, and 6.5-284, and use the same powder in those as I do in rifles.

I use an old lot (early 90's) of H-322 in the 6 BR with 70 grain BT's.

Devastating on PD's.....

alf,

I will shoot what shoots, blast or not. I shot H322 in 7BR XP's years ago. I like N135 in 6BR rifles. So far h322 is shooting the best. I will get out this weekend shoot with FF brass and check speed. Thanks for the help

I do believe that 4198 is way to fast a powder in a 6br period. That is unless you want to wear the barrel. They list 4198 in 2 ranges but I seriously doubt it would give good accuracy like in the .223.

Looks like H322 is going to be the powder. N135 does not shoot well. I shoot 322 in a 223 Contender barrel. I picked up a 15" 308 barrel this weekend, What do you like in it?
Thanks for the help

I will start a new post on the t/c and vertical. Insted of HJ your post.

thanks

Just getting started with a 16 1/4 Bullberry in 6BR and this was my best grouping powder so far. Have to pony up in a lb of H322 too.

5 shots @100yds.

The round off to the side had something to do with a ported 338 Win shooting next to me :-[

According to QL VV N130 at 100% load density burns 99.9% in a 15" barrel. Of course this is plugging in generic information supplied by QL.
