6br ,1-8 T ,with 75gr Hornady vmax

Hi all I’m thinking of trying out my 6br with the 75 gr v max Bullets on wood chucks .what kind of Accuracy and results on wood chucks can I expect with a trued up Remington 700 hart 1-8 T heavy 26 inch Barrel ,7-42 Leupold Scope .thank you

With a 75 vmax,31.5 of n135,28" barrel, cci 450 getting appox. 3300',10 shoot group < .500

I used them in my 6BR but nothing to rave about. You have some severe over spinning so accuracy will be OK. It depends what you expect from your rifle. Why not go with an 87g VMax?

Yeah, my 6br 8t criterion barrel loves the 87vmax over 31gr varget.

I shoot a 6BR Dakota Predator with a load of 32.0 gr Varget and the Berger 87 gr VLD hunting bullet. It’s the most accurate 6 BR load I’ve seen with an 87 gr bullet. You should be able to plug the 87 grain VMax into that load and be in good shape. My gun shoots 1/4” 5 shot groups pretty regular with it.

I'd be a bit careful going straight to 32grs- 31 in mine is DEF on the warm side..

Speer 70gr TNT bullets shoot very well, even with the 1/8-twist barrels. I get a little over 3,000 fps with my 6X45 but have shot them in my 6SLR at 3,400+ fps. They handle jump very well too.

6BR with an 87 V-max and Varget is a match made in heaven. My 6BR agg for 4 x 5 shot groups was .288. Amazing for a production bullet. What's not to like!. This is a hunting rifle, not a bench gun!!

I had my 6BR made up with a 10 twist barrel especially for 75 and 87 Vmax bullets. Both worked well but I ended up choosing 75 Vmax because it gives me more velocity. I get 3300 fps using Varget with excellent velocity.
