If anyone listens to Hornady podcasts, episode #204 from October 15, 2025 goes into great detail on why they developed the 69 specifically for the higher velocity 22’s and why the 62 is a poor choice for higher velocities and was designed for 22 ARC capacity cases. They also explain clearly why twist rates were chosen and how the gyroscopic stability numbers should considered when choosing a certain bullet/velocity combination.I just watched a YouTube video of a guy shooting 22 Creedmoor 69 ELDVT ammo out of a Ruger American. It shot legit 1/2 minute. 3400 fps. I'm assuming that is standard length ammo and I'm not sure that was near the lands.
Apparently this one is much more forgiving than the 62 ELDVT.
