.645' at 600yds--Brady Does it Again

Terry Brady just gave me a call. He wasn't able to shoot at the IBS 600-yard Nat'ls but he did shoot a 600-yard match this weekend at Piedmont.

This wasn't a sanctioned match, that's a long story), but Terry's group is still amazing. Five shots in 0.645", and he told me he had fifteen witnesses sign the target.

Load was a std 6mmBR, 31.0gr RL15 powder, Berger 105gr bullets jammed WAY into the lands. The rifle is the same gun featured in our previous gun of the week article: http://www.6mmbr.com/gunweek051.html

FYI, one MOA at 600 yards is 6.282".

Terry's group is the equivalent of a .103 MOA group. WOW.

I was one of the witnesses today. Terry and I shot next to each other. It was an awsome group. Everyone at the match enjoyed seeing Terry beat his own record.
Congrats. Terry, Fine shooting!

Fantastic!!:D

Hell, that's a good group for 300 yards, much less 600. It's beginning to look like 600 yard Benchrest is going places we never dreamed it would 3 years ago.

Good shooting.

Rich DeSimone was at the match and he posted on Benchrest.com:

"[Terry's] four match agg. was 1.9468". The first relay was ideal conditions and Terry took full advantage of it with, what would have been a new 600 yard IBS record, a group of 0.645". The wind then picked up some and he followed up with a 3.4, a 2.1 and a 1.5."

I know Terry told me .654", but if it measured in as a .645" that's even better.

BTW, that works out to a 1.9135" four-group agg. That's .304 MOA.

Here's the Target. Terry just sent me the pic. Yep it's a .645"--even better than Terry remembered.

WOW ....that is a lil' one....congrats TERRY.....now if you could just get the vertical out of it!!!!!!!!!!hahahah.....I shoot a 6BR also ....they are a treat....I have a bad back and cant cary a heavy gun without much discomfort....especially after the shooting day is over....so I shoot a 6 BR because of the light recoil...and the gun doesnt have to weigh a ton to be fun for me....mine weighs 11 pounds....I suppose I could drag around 16 1/2 - 17 without tooo much pain....anyhow...you are doing great ....too bad you wont get a screamer patch out of it....I shot two very good groups in Sacremento this spring myself,600yd.Nats.) and was told there are no screamer patches given for acomplisments at 600...not enough competition...maby our directors and elected IBS/NBRSA officers could help out...its a crime that there are a lot of really good groups being shot. and no one is getting the recognition they deserve...but the shooters recognize your acomplishments...and you know that lil' popgun will really shoot a dot...my hat is off to you.....Roger

Does anyone know if he was shooting Moly 105s with this load? I noticed in the gun of the week article that he mentioned only shooting Moly, but the load above is one of the recipes in the reloading data section for naked bullets.

The reason I am curious is that I am about to start shooting Moly and I have shot the naked 105 Berger VLDs with 31g of RE15 and was wondering if I should move up a little with the Molys.

Thanks in advance to those who reply,
