62 grain Barnes/243. What rate of twist?

Does anyone know if the 62 grain Barnes Varmint Grenade shot in a 243/6mm requires a particualar or minimum rate of twist? I see that the .223 50 grain varmint grenades require a 1 in 10 inch twist. Reason is I have a .243 Win with a Shilen, 1 in 14 inch twist barrel that I built up for 70 grain Noslers and Sierras and now my state of California has gone "lead free" for the condors. I'm afraid these bullets won't be stable with the 62 Barnes VG. Thanks for any help!

Got an answer from Dave Card of Barnes bullets about the 62 grain Barnes bullets and the amount of required twist for a 6mm/243 barrel. He says that the 62 grain VG requires at least a 1 in 12 rate twist. So, I'm out of luck with a Shilen SS 1:14 barrel with only 10 rounds through it! This is an example of another couple of hundred wasted dollars because of California's lead ban in the condor range. I have at least 500 to a 1000 dollars worth of lead bullets that I can't use in my area, and now a useless barrel. A lot of powder will sit idle as well since for big game hunting I've had to switch to TSX or E-tips and now I have little reason to experiment with lead bullets as a hobby. Maybe I'll unscrew the barrel and carry it up to Sacramento from the skinny end.

After I calm down I think maybe I'll get me a nice new 1:10 barrel and build up a 6mm Br for coyotes/squirrels with the 62 grain Barnes VG with this same action.
