62 eldvt bc values

I've taken the 62 eldvt out to 1000 yards with two different barrels. To get it to waterline I'm using a .362 g1 bc value.
Anybody else noticed this, or am I crazy?
If you taken them out to distance I would be curious what your result were.

Well the G1 is only .395 or something along those lines so if you have “trued” your ballistic data out to 1000 yards, and you’re getting waterline all the way out there using that data I’d say roll with it.

You may also want to shoot in cooler/warmer temps and true again to see what, if any, it changes.

I’ve leaned over the years that with ballistic programs your muzzle velocity and BC that you have listed are starting points when truing. As long as you’re making impacts you’re good.

Personally, Inwoukd have used the G7 to true my setup. That VLDET is a long bullet and a G1 really isn’t the right ballistic curve for it.

I’m curious what this bullet does on flesh and blood. Currently using 80 grain Bergers in a 22-250 Tikka that is a solid set up way out there but these might be fun to work up a load if they are expanding at long range.

I'm pretty sure at least one of the O'Neill Ops guys is using these 62gr ELD-VT bullets in their 22-250 and they seem to be pretty happy with how they perform. I don't know how many coyotes they slay a year but it's a lot.

As anyone that's seen them knows those 62 ELD-VT's for only being a 62gr bullet are, very, long. I've seen a cutaway of them and they have a pretty long hollow spot between the plastic tip and where the actual lead starts so I don't think they'll have any issue expanding at just about any distance.

They have been testing for a long time and they are very happy with them

They are more explosive than the 53 VMAX. And that is saying something.
