Overall, Rattlesnake Ranch Wildlife Club’s first IBS 600 yard Benchrest match was a great time! I am at my home now and am homesick wanting to go back to Rattlesnake Ranch! I was very impressed with the shooting facility they have built. It looks like they l did their homework before they started building any part of the range. I have been to many ranges across the country and most ranges lack the convience of something, but not Rattlesnake! Like Seth said, everything you need is right there built together under one roof. 14 Covered benches, with cleaning tables behind them, Clean indoor Male and Female bathroom, chairs to sit in when not shooting and tell stories and bad shooting excuses, scorers room, and even scored targets are hung inside.
These guys know how to make you feel welcome and put on a feast! We had fresh Eastern NC Pork BBQ that they cooked on the cooker right there and started cooking at 4am! That was no kidding the best BBQ I had ever eaten. They said they are working on a larger indoor kitchen for later. They already have tables and chairs for meals under the same large roof that everything else is under. They certainly know how to feed you. All the staff and members were very warm, welcoming, and had loads of hospitality.
My only regret of the trip was traveling near 4 hours away just to get beat by two guys that live 10 minutes from me in Yadkin County, NC. Seth and Mike Wooten. Lol. It is hard to take, but I am kind of getting use to that by now though.
Thank you so much RRWC for joining the IBS and accommodating us shooters that love the game! We truely had a great time, had fun, met some great people, and ate some great home cooked food. It dont get no better than that! I will be at your next match this year and hope you are able to put on several IBS 600 yard matches next year. You can count me in on being there!
