That got your attention. It did mine.

Guess that my magnetospeed had trouble picking up the 32 gr projectile on the 204 Ruger barrel I just installed on my action. I was hoping to get a load worked up for it today. On the first shot, my eyes must have looked like saucers when I saw the velocity. Needless to say, I looked the brass and rifle over. Everything looked OK.

I'm assuming this is not accurate.

Will have to play around with the sensitivity tomorrow.

Sarcasm aside, the internal clock of the Magneto speed was/is off and the calc's are about twice what they should be.

Just in case some new loader might think this is real, here is the solution.

There is a sensitivity value that can be set in the Magnetospeed. I don't have mine in front of me but in the Main Menu is something like "Set Bullet Type". When you answer the questions that follow, i.e. Non-Magnetic bullet and Zero-Line Crossing, eventually Sensitivity can be adjusted. I had to move the sensitivity (which can be 2-20 with lower number being more sensitive) from the default value (14?) to a "9" last year to get the 90vlds to register. At "9" the loads were giving me the numbers shown above in the pictures. Yesterday I moved the sensitivity to "6" but the single shot was at 6317fps. (26.0 gr TAC loaded at 2.245 COAL). Thinking I might need to move it to a higher number, I went to 14. Second shot failed to register. Lowered sensitivity to "4". 3875fps. That's were I left it for my testing and the velocities were in the range I expected 3800-4105fps. Hope this helps someone.
