600 yard groups?

Group sizes, of course, depend on the conditions. But, a very good single target 5-shot group is close to 1 inch and a very good single target 10-shot group is twice that size. Favorite cartridges are those that will shoot groups of the that size. I'm not being a smart a$$, there is no predominate 600 yard cartridge as yet.

Joel Kendrick was the IBS 600-yard shooter of the year, campaigning a 6x44 made from 6.5x47 Lapua brass.
Don Nielson won the recent NBRSA 600-yard Nationals shooting a 6.5x47 with 130gr JLKs from Swampworks.
Ron Tilley had the best Light Gun Group Agg and Score Agg shooting a straight 6BR. Billy Copelin had the second best Light Gun Group; I believe he is shooting a 6mm or 22 BRX, but maybe he's running a different cartridge.
As for group size, I'd say 1.5" is very good and close to 1" is spectacular. In perfect conditions I know a lot of guys are trying to hold 1" of vertical at that distance, but the wind always gets 'ya.
Right now I'd say the popular calibers are 6BR, 6BR improved, 6-6.5x47, 6XC, 6.5x47, and 6.5x284, but there definitely seems to be a bias to the 6mms--so far at least.
