hi guys,
here is something of interest.
in 1977 in rifle magazine # 53 is a article.
allen king came up with a cartridge based on a shot fat case he used the 308 as a base I think and pused the shoulder back to a length of 1.528 and a large rifle primer. with a 24 in barrel he got 3100 to 3250 or so with 80grain to 90 grain custom bullets.the powder he used was 760,n203,h4895 and cci br-2 primers and 9 1/5 remingtons.barrel was a hart 1/12 twist.
the shoulder was a 45 degree .also he had a 1/14 20 hart barrel and used 70 grian custom bullets that was at 3000 to 3330 fps.now if you use the new dasher cases what would you have?
he used 34.5 to 36 grains of powder.
any thoughts?
