6 slr question

How problematic would it be to re-cut a 243 into a 6 slr.

I presume the shank would have to be shortened and then some thread work done in addition to the chamber?

thanks

Yes.

I actually was talking about this with a friend today. I have a factory .243 Win and want to set it back and rechamber to a 6SLR or .243 IMP 30°. I want to be able to indicate barrel properly see if it would improve accuracy.

But yes, you would need to set back enough to have reamer cut new shoulder and freebore and recut bolt nose recess, extend barrel tenon, and chase threads.

If youve got the reamer and go gauge it would be a simple job for a smith.

The nice thing about the 6slr is the longer necks, vs the shorter necks in the improved.
