6 norma br sizing question

I'm new to the 6 br scene and have a new savage 6br lrpv dual port rifle. I have new lapua brass and I have ordered redding s-type neck sizing dies with 266,267 and 268 bushings. My question is, should I also order a full length sizer to run new unfired lapua brass or will the body die that comes with the die set suffice.

Short answer - NO.

If anything, the shoulders are slightly short. But the necks may be slightly out of round and/or slightly undersize. I use the mandrel that came with my neck turning tool to iron the necks out then run them back through the collet neck sizing die to get the proper neck tension. Also, don't forget to chamfer the inside and outside of the necks.

If you do not have the above mandrel and the necks are out of round, first run them through your body die, then through the collet die as this may take care of the problem. Another solution is a Lyman M-die.
