6 norma br die advice

I just ordered a Savage f-class in 6br and need advice on dies. I just want easy to use full length dies to start. I reload for many other standard cal rifles but when I went to Midway I was cunfused by all the 6mm br dies. I will be loading 107 smk with varget and shooting f-open matches. Thanks for any help

I would go with the standard redding die set. Down the road you can upgrade if you deem it necessary.

For general use, I like the Redding factory dies but I like the Forster factory dies better--especially if you want to use a neck die--the Forster body bump neck die does in one step, what Redding does in two, sorta. The Redding will be slower to use and require lube where the Forster will not, as the Redding will form the body and base as well as the neck and shoulder. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending upon you requirements. Some people even have a need for the Redding small base body die, if they are loading for a tight chamber or near the top of the safe powder limits.

Either bullet seating dies seem to be about the same, whether you need a micrometer or not.

An even better sizing choice, depending upon how serious you are about accuracy and/or competition, is to use a Redding custom made S type die for FL sizing built for your chamber.
