6 mm dasher verses 6 mm brx

given equal rifles in 1000 yd shooting in light class how would you compare them?does one have a greater accuracy potential over the other?

IMHO no! I have owed both and see no real accuracy difference but I am no world record holder either!

The two shoot the same load but with a dasher you don't have to trim the cases. my choice is a dasher but I think a Brx is just as good

I don't need to trim my brx cases any more than my Dasher .

Tom,
It aint looking good for me at all but if I don't make it I hope you bring the record back home to Montana where it belongs with your Brdx ;) best of luck my friend!

P.S to the op Tom is one of the best if not the best shot I have ever met, he ran a Dasher the first 4 years I knew him burning up the range with it, while I was getting by with my 6brx and now he is running the 6BRDX and if conditions are right it's a hammer at 1000 yards!

There was a very similar post here recently, do a quick search. I am looking to rechamber in the near future for one of the two. I am leaning towards the BRX because I can still use my standard BR dies.

I figured if they were pretty equal then I wouldn't have to buy another set of dies. I am not familiar with custom dies for a specific chamber. What should be my main reasons to decide between the two?

waterfwlr,
I think it is just gonna come down to whatever you decide. There are some merits to the 40 degree shoulder, they tend not to stretch so bad as mentioned earlier by savagedasher ,..however I have never had this problem in 5 different 6brx rifles and two different reamer's. I truly believe Tom is right you need a die to fit your chamber or a chamber to fit your die. I totally believe Tom is as close to an athority on the Dasher as they come, there isn't much he hasn't done with one, he and his shooting buddies have really rung the dasher out so when Tom told me he went with the 6brdx and told me he would never go back to a Dasher I din't question why ,..just went and bought a ream the next day,..since then I have seen him post that statement multiple times openly on this forum so there you have it, but 6br and any of it's improved wildcats are a hard case to beat on the 1000 yard line!

If you drive a Chevy, go with a Dasher. If you drive a Ford, run with the BRX. If you drive a Dodge, your outta luck! LOL :)

The build of my new 243 LBC Turbo has begun as well. Basically a Dasher version of the 6 PPC case. The folks using it in AR's are claiming over 2950 fps with 105 VLD's in only a 26" barrel and some of the best accuracy they have ever seen. So I figured why not put that little sucker in a bolt gun and see how she drives? I expect I won't be disappointed. We'll have to see though... Here I go trying to re-invent the wheel on Tom again...

Got a few new guys hired on at work so next years might be a go for a few matches. If this little Turbo round works out ok, I'll probably be down at the NASCAR race trying to win with my Camaro again ;)

maddysdad,

I have shot a BRX for 8 years. I have shot 3 records IBS 600 yds benchrest with a 6BRX, one small LG group 0.749". I shot a long range steel match today http://www.bangsteel.com/ with my BRX. I shot perfect score of 700, one shot per target from 350 to 900 yds. Flip a coin, they are that close.
