6 Grendel load data

I hope there is someone out there that can help with some load data for a Bolt rifle and not a gas gun as they are two different beasts. I have a Panda with a 1-12 twist and need some data for what kind of powder works for you and 70 to 80 grain bullets you might be using. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is for a 6 Grendel rifle.

I'm not where I can look at my 80gr data but I've had good luck with lt32 and 68 grain flat bases, at around 30.5 grains. I've not had any pressure issues there in any of my guns but I'm sure it's warm. I'd start at 29.5 and work up. This is bolt gun data! I would NOT start or go there in a gas gun. It will be compressed, depending on your free bore and bullet, etc. A fast pour may be over full a tad.

Thank you very much for the info, that can be a start. Have you had any experience with H-322 and if so what? If you can dig out the info for the 80grs that would help also. Thanks again.

As Tim said, n135, 8208 and Benchmark are all good. I had several lots of BM that were wonderful but shyed away from it after a huge lot to lot change.

My las notes were for 8208 with 80 grainers. I was shooting 30.8gr with 80 gr fb bullets. Again, work up in your rifle, as I tend to shoot near peak pressures. I didn't have chrono data logged but IIRC, that load was shooting at 3,300fps from a 24" barrel..straight 6 Grendel case in custom action br rifles. It shot very well but nothing topped the lots of bm that I had been using before I had trouble with it. I could get 3,400 but brass life was just a 2-3 firings, in my rifles. All 3 of those powders can compete anywhere, in that cartridge/bullet combo if your barrel likes it.

I switched to light bullets due to lot to lot changes in my magic pixie dust..Benchmark with 80's. I saw enough that I will revisit the 80 gr stuff. It's got a ton of promise and a significant bc advantage over the lighter bullets, particularly when you can push them very near the same speeds as a ppc with 68's.

I'll say it again..just work up to those loads in your gun. An 80, with its weight and bearing surface difference, acts a lot different than the 68's do. If you had a 10 twist, that's where you can see a huge bc advantage with say, 90gr berger bt's. They shoot well! It would be perfect for the tack driver match at 300 meters. I've won a 100 yd trigger pulling contest with them against ppc's and 30 br's. Common logic is...That'll never work! Come to think of it, I think I won with that combo again, the last time I screwed the 10 twist on and shot it. Maybe not win, but I was in contention. I don't really recall which but it shot very well that day. I think it was a 200-300 meters match last season..fwiw.

Thanks again for the info. I had thought about those powders but just didn"t know where to start with them. I like the idea of the N135 with the heavier bullets so I'll
try that next. I have a 6BR with a 1-14 and it really likes the N135 with a 75gr bullet. Benchmark is a very touchy powder as it is not very forgiving. So once again I will say thank you and good shooting this coming year.

Isn't it basically a 6 PPC?
